When the RTGX Team sat around the table to discuss plans for its new facilities, one theme revealed itself clearly. The team wanted to break a bit of new ground in the way the new spaces would function, be constructed and furnished.  The Team drew inspiration from a variety of sources and reviewed office designs from companies all over the world.

We then picked elements from each, shook them up, and threw in a little flavor from Baltimore based interior design experts, Whitehead and Appel who are known for spaces with a  flair for innovation, whimsy, form function and sophistication.  Corporate Office Properties Trust known as COPT is also at the table providing leadership in design and construction to the RTGX Team.

The team deliberated each nook and cranny of the new space. Reviews of materials, furniture and lighting were continuously evaluated for cost, quality, form and function and then reviewed against the objectives established for the new work environment. RTGX has a diverse customer base that often stops by for technical training, meetings and technology demonstrations. The Founders wanted a space that customers would find welcoming, warm and inviting. To that end the Team included soft fabrics on seating surfaces, soothing hues with pops of color to entertain the eye, state of the art access to Internet and common areas that allow for easy collaboration and interesting aesthetics. The goal for the new spaces is also to have a workspace and environment where despite the hard work and dedication our employees apply on behalf of customer’s daily that they could conduct business in a relaxing and soothing setting.

RTGX’s employees are located around the world. Many of our employees have occasion to come to Maryland and collaborate with their peers from time to time and RTGX wanted them to feel at home on their visits to our Maryland offices. One advantage of the new location is the proximity to BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. Employees, customer’s and business partners will now have an even easier ability land, greet, meet and get the deal done and get back to their destinations around the country and the world efficiently.

Earlier we mentioned aesthetics in describing the new spaces. We applied aesthetics broadly in our design and thought about technology aesthetics and how we could incorporate them in to multiple aspects beyond what would normally be thought of by most. The issue with technology is that it is ever evolving and when you have a firm with world wide operations and in the throws of launching new enterprises, signing new technology partnerships and interacting with innovators and forward thinkers it requires the ability to utilize technology to make the deal and speed time to market. RTGX has incorporated cost saving video conferencing capabilities throughout the offices and robust bandwidth to accomplish collaboration up the street or across the ocean.
